 TCP/IP Setting Manual

1. Open your WiFi icon, and choose 'Network & Internet Setting'.




2. Next, click the 'Change adapter option'.




3. After that, double click the 'Wi-Fi' option because I'm using a Wi-Fi connection from my home network.





 4. Then, the Wi-Fi pop-up box status appeared, and double click the 'Properties' button.




5. Choose the 'Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)' option. Moreover, double click the 'Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)' option or click the 'Properties' button.




6. Hence, we need to change 'Obtain an IP address automatically' to 'Use the following IP address'.




7. In addition, put an 'IP address' 151.139.240.22 for OnlineLearning System Server of Cobham College IT Centre that we find using command prompt. Then, set the 'Subnet mask'. Usually, on a home network, the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 (Class C). Set the 'Default gateway' 151.139.240.21. This address is typically your IP address but the different number in the 4th octet.





8. For the 'Preferred DNS server', the address used same as default gateway above which is 151.139.240.21. Set the 'Alternative DNS server', which your computer will use if it can’t reach the preferred server we use the Google DNS server, the 8.8.8.8.




9. After that, click 'Validate settings upon exit' then click 'OK' button.




10. 
Click 'OK' button in the 'Wi-Fi Properties' pop-up box and finish.
